Two Days of Training, but a Lifetime of Rewards...
​​The TPF Diversity Ambassador Program is two full-days of diversity education and training.  This very informative and in-depth training program was designed to meet the needs of everyone, from those starting their D&I journey, to the seasoned diversity practitioner.   All are welcomed into the conversation!  Attendees will take part in interactive dialouge, table/group exercises along with journaling their experience as they move through the program.  The impact, or outcome, of the Divesity Ambassador Program is to create a stronger awareness and education centered on creating a truly inclusive, welcoming and affirming environment where everyone on your team can grow, thrive and succeed.

Diversity 101: Building the Business Case for D&I 

During the first-half of Day One, you will get to know your classmates, create teams to work with, start the journaling process and begin laying the foundation for your D&I journey.  We will:

  • Learn what Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) is and other important key terms
  • Identify and understanding organizational challenges as it relates to D&I and how to begin building the Business Case for D&I 
  • Begin the process of journaling your experiences in-and-out of the program
  • Discuss the importance of collecting and using data in your organization to impact your overall bottom-line
  • Discover the impact a strong D&I program will have within your organization allowing you to attract and retain world-class talent
Discovering the Five Essential Elements to D&I In your Organization

  • Learn and Understand the Business Case for D&I in the workplace
  • Identify the Essential Elements needed for a strong D&I program/framework in your organization (what this really means)
  • Implement and integrate your D&I strategies (the Plan) into your organization's overall strategies and core values
  • Learn how to create a Map for Success and implement impactful strategies for long-term success of your D&I Plan

Begin Creating the Roadmap for D&I Success in Your Organization

During the second-half of Day One, we will begin creating the strategies for a successful roadmap of D&I in your organization, which includes how to map and audit your work and creating Best Practices.  During this course you will:

  • Discuss Best Practices for collecting the data on how to audit your current D&I work and begin laying the foundation for future success
  • Discuss the strategies needed for creating a roadmap for a strong diversity plan/strategy that aligns with your organization's core values
  • Discuss how to define organizational buy-in and have those difficult discussions with top leaders - leading the narrative...
  • Learn how to create a roadmap of your D&I journey, where you want to go and how to measure and celebrate your successes along the way
  • Continue on the journaling process - check-in with classmates

Identifying and Removing Microaggressions in the Workplace

As we begin Day Two of the program, we dive deep into the Biases, Isms and Stereotypes that exists in the workplace and the damage they can do.  Between in-depth/intense discussions and table exercises, Our seasoned instructors will show you how to identify and remove biases, isms and stereotypes on a personal level and at the workplace. Discussions include identifying microaggressions, which left unchecked can cause great harm to your organization. During the first part of the day we will:

  • Learn and define the key terms for biases, isms and stereotypes
  • Identify and understand the impact biases, isms and stereotypes plays not only in the workplace, but our personal lives as well
  • Discover how micro-aggressions and micro-inequities can damage company morale and your organization's reputation
  • Complete two table exercises: allowing for a deeper understanding our own biases and stereotypes (how we hurt others and ourselves)
  • Discover how to remove biases, isms and stereotypes and replace these with micro-affirmations
  • Take part in group discussions and table exercises that will broaden our understanding of micro-aggressions, biases isms and stereotypes
  • Continue with the journaling process - check-in with classmates

Creating and Fostering an Inclusive & Welcoming Environment

The second-half of Day Two will continue with an in-depth discussion which focuses on creating and implementing a diverse and inclusive culture that provides a strong welcoming and affirming message. Learn how to guide top leadership and your coworkers to overcome the many challenges that D&I may present in your organization.  During the second half of the day we will:

  • Learn what an Inclusive and Welcoming Culture truly is and what impact this has on stigmatized and underrepresented/marginalized groups in your organization
  • Discover strategies and Best Practices for creating a strong inclusive environment as part of your recruiting, hiring and onboarding practices
  • Identify, discuss and understand the data on how homophobia exists in today's workplace and the impact this can have on your LGBTQ employees
  • Learn now to create a Safe Zone within your organization, creating a 'safe-space' for a truly inclusive environment
  • Work on two case study's, along with an in-depth conversation (table exercise)
  • Discover the impact discrimination and prejudice has on underrepresented groups in the workplace and what you can do to remove these
  • Review the past three sessions, discuss the journaling process and have open discussion on how this journey has impacted you and/or your organization
  • ​Take part in the Pledge signing presentation, making a solid-commitment to make D&I a part of your organization's culture
